I Heart San Francisco!

Monday, October 12, 2009

If you live in SF, or want to visit SF one day, here are some of the places you should definitely try out:

-Yoga to the People: It is located by 16th Street Mission BART station, and it is my absolutely favorite yoga studio in SF. Let me start by saying that it is a donation-based studio, and that you only pay what you can. So, nothing better than this yoga to de-stress when money is what is stressing you out. Besides that, I love their location, and their view, especially at night, especially during candle-lit classes. Ahhhh....

-Mitchell's Ice Cream: It seems like that whenever the weather gets a bit warmer, the line outside Mitchell's gets a little bit longer. This ice cream parlor is a local favorite, and you should really go for the non-typical flavors. My favorites are Mexican chocolate, and lucuma. Yum!

-Rainbow Grocery: A worker-owned grocery store, and my favorite place to buy healthy yummy snacks in bulk. For those who complain that organic food is expensive, buying it by the bulk will ligthen your budget up. I especially reccommend their pastry section. So many goodies to choose from!

Raiding My Boyfriend's Closet?

Sunday, September 27, 2009

I never thought I would be interested in wearing my BF clothes, but after finding this page, I don't think I can get out of it anymore.

My favorite is the T-shirt Shredder tutorial.

I wish I had more time to write about my non-serious thoughts...

Concurso Brasil

Monday, May 25, 2009

1. Redken Headplay 12 Hair Spray
2. ELF Super Glossy Lip Shine na cor Pink Kiss
3. ELF Hypershine Gloss na cor Blossom
4. ELF Sheer Foundation na cor Tone 2
5. ELF Sheer Foundation na cor Tone 3
6. Stile Perfecting Concealer na cor C
7. Vincent Longo Mascara
8. Back to the Earth Minerals nas cores Laranja e Marrom
9. Modern Basic Concealer na cor w072 Sand
10. Crown Retractable Kabuki
11. Clinique 7-day Scrub Cream
12. Cosmedicine Medi-Matte SPF 20
13. DDF Protect and Correct SPF 15
14. ELF Eyelash Curler
15. Styli-Style Eyeliner na cor Twilight
16. ELF Blending Brush
17. Stila Lip Glaze na cor Brown Sugar

Boa Sorte!

How Beauty Has Changed My Life On The Web

Sunday, May 24, 2009

So, prior to getting this beauty addiction, I was an average person on the web: checked my emails, was active on facebook, shopped for necessities online. I wasn't very crazy about spending hours on the computer. But now, my friends, life has changed, and I cannot live a day without reading a beauty blog. It is like my coffee in the morning: without it I can't begin my day.

These are some things that I "discovered" because of this "addiction:"

- Youtube: I remember the first time I went on Youtube. It was to see if I could find a "Doug" episode online. I think I did, but I don't quite remember. But, one day, on a day of slow activity at work, I decided to check if there were any tutorials on how to put eye make up on Asian eyes. And THERE WERE! At that time (back in the day), Pursebuzz was one of the most active gurus, and I remember following all her tips! Now my all-time favorites are ahanhbarbie34 for her awesome hair skills and taste in fashion, and MissChievous for her creativity and uniqueness among all gurus!

-Beauty Blogs: Asian Beauty Blog (ABB) was my first stop to get tips from people like me to people like me. Soon, however, I found out that there was a wealth of other blogs out there, which carried so much more than ABB offered. Currently, my favorites are Fuzkittie for her knowledge on skincare and mouth-watering hauls, and 2beauty "por ter iniciado o movimento de 'bloguistas de beleza' no Brasil e por ter juntado toda essa comunidade de fanáticas por beleza num simples site!"

-Asian Stuff: OMG! I love being Asian now! The makeup, the skincare, the fashion, the language, the culture. I might be exaggerating, but after getting into beauty, I just wanted to get more in touch with my Chinese roots! My favorite sites to shop for Asian stuff are Sasa, Imomoko, and Mihoko.

-Natural Skin Care: I cannot even count how many mineral companies I have already tried, or how many skincare products I have at home that I am rotating every month! Although I am loving anything beauty-related, sometimes I think that everything that goes on your body, also goes in your body, so sometimes I follow this rule. My favorite natural company is Garden of Wisdom for formulating products that work.

-Fitness: This is a new thing I got into. I can't say much about it, besides that I really want to get toned, and become stronger. Maybe I will post a picture of before and after as my body changes (or not! LOL). I've been visiting BodyBuilding.com quite a lot these days.

So, how has beauty changed you on the web? Share your favorites!
